What's it all about? The name should say it: "Make Disciples Training Program." We are a group of Christians dedicated to training men and women to teach their neighbors about the soul-saving gospel. It's that simple. Training began in February 2018. Be sure to subscribe above to receive updates.
GOAL
The goal of MDTP is to help you develop a set of skills and boost your confidence for personal work and enable and excite you for the rest of your life about making disciples who grow, remain faithful, and make disciples.
PROGRAM
The training program is a 10-week program that works best in groups of 6-15 people. We can meet in church auditoriums, classrooms, or even in the lounges/living rooms of homes. The trainers will require full commitment of all students, as attendance of every class and homework every week are requirements of all students.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS AND HISTORY
Much of what MDTP is has been inspired by what the men at Fishers of Men Ministry have been doing since 1977. They have been training men and women for personal evangelism all over the world. MDTP is certainly not a competition of Fishers of Men. If anything, it is an outflowing. All of the original authors of MDTP have taken FOM and have encouraged scores of people to do the same. It is a fantastic program.
At the end of 2016, some Christians in New Zealand began to meet to discuss the future of evangelism training in New Zealand. Seeds of a worldwide disciple-making program were planted at those meetings. We wanted to see a training program that incorporated all of the good things from other programs we have seen, plus a few ideas of our own, all while implementing 21st century technology. The program was built for an entire year until it was first taught from February to April 2018 in Wellington, New Zealand.
